FAQ's

How does it work?

Either you or your local garage will drop your full engine from your vehicle complete including your ancillaries, carb, distributor, exhaust system, tinware, everything.  No need to remove anything. We can arrange all logistics, and once onsite your ancillaries are stripped off and professionally checked for serviceability.  At this stage if any are deemed by us to be unserviceable we will discuss this with you for authorisation prior to continuation.  You may also choose to renew or upgrade your existing ancillaries and we can either source these for you or you can provide them for us.

Will you use my original ancillaries?

Yes that would be our initial aim. Firstly they are thoroughly cleaned, chemically steam cleaned or shot blasted. At that point we can discuss these items with you. Any required replacement ancillaries would be discussed for your authorisation to replace. All good ancillaries are primed and repainted as necessary. We then reassemble original and any new items onto your replacement reconditioned or "New" engine.

Do you test the engine?

Once fully assembled we run all air cooled engines under their own power for a minimum of 30 minutes on a test rig, set the ignition timing and tune the carburettor air and fuel mixture settings until we are fully confident that your replacement engine is running perfectly.

Can I buy or upgrade ancillaries during the project?

Yes, the service is tailored to you. We can utilise as much of your original ancillaries as possible. Or we can replace as many of them as you wish. We can even supply a complete engine with 100% brand new ancillary packages, often from stock.

What happens at the end?

We then package and dispatch your full engine ready for you or your garage to re-install into your vehicle. Simple!

How long should I expect this to take?
For this service we anticipate a 7-10 working day turnaround dependent on the clients wishes and subject to demand.

How about warranty?

The engine supplied is covered within our warranty policy. Any new ancillaries supplied and installed will be covered by the suppliers warranty policies. Your original ancillaries will have been cleaned and inspected. However we are unable to provide them a new life and obviously cannot be attributed an ongoing warranty. We will have ensured they are functioning correctly at the point of installation.

If you have any other questions we'd love to hear from you.
